A Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in New Brunswick is a therapist who has received training from a recognized educational institute. At Massage Matters, all of our therapists are registered and also recognized by extended health care plans.
During your first visit, you'll fill out a confidential health history form to ensure massage is safe for your condition. Your therapist will review the form and discuss a treatment plan with you. You'll then have privacy to undress and get on the table under a sheet. You can leave on as much clothing as you're comfortable with (typically leaving only underwear on). Your therapist will knock before re-entering the room and will ensure that only the part of your body being worked on is uncovered during the treatment. If you have any questions or discomfort during the treatment, please communicate this with your therapist. After treatment, your therapist will again leave the room to allow you to dress. Afterward, you'll review the treatment with your therapist.
Following treatment, you may feel very relaxed, loose, and possibly a little lightheaded. If the treatment is intense, you may experience some discomfort in any areas that required deeper techniques than others. Any tenderness you feel should subside within a couple of days.
